Last year back in Sep 2009 , heard of this Jagriti Yatra and applied within a day to be a part of that elite bunch.. My quest came to an end in Mid Dec, when Mrs Vibha's mail left me with disappointed and like a kite cut from the string i wandered in scrutiny of my desire to be a Yatri.. It took me one weekend lonely drive to Pondicherry on my Pulsar 200cc just to give me an identity and sketch my vision. That 400KM ride changed my life, visited French churches, RamaKrishna Mission and slept on the sands along the shore that Saturday night in introspection. Next day came across a local NGO and their passion to pursue their dreams in making those unprivileged kids into responsible citizens melted my heart away. That moment i knew what i lived for in the past and what road i had to take in near future (without any Google maps) ..
Although my efforts to serve the society even in a small way was deep rooted in me from my father, i really couldn't do much significant contribution. Only in the last 2 years after my graduation, i was influenced by the our own misgivings which crystallized into socio-economic divide so difficult to bridge. I don't blame the politicians nor bureaucracy for what happened in last 64 years, but ourselves for not doing enough within our social sphere. "Things don't change by themselves, only we can change them" was once said by famous poet and this always echoes in my ears till today when i overhear debates on the country's progress in eradicating poverty, population control, health care etc...(list is endless, so is the noise over these issues in media)
This frustration led to a serene state of mind where i started working on establishing an euthopia solving the basic problems of the rural sector. Only if the villages are prosperous or when the villager becomes a prospective customer, we can proudly call ourselves Indians in true spirits. Liberating the villager from all hurdles and make him financial freedom can solve much of the problems. And my selection to TJY 2010 couldn't have come at a better time for me to share my thoughts with like minded young minds in cementing the walls of my proposal. Jagriti Yatra is like a catalyst in our pursue of common interests... IF I were a Programmer who is willing to write your own program, this yatra offers various platforms (java, oracle,C++,C## etc ) to solve a specific a solution. No two minds think exactly the same and here we have an opportunity in connecting these dots within 18 days to figure out where our passions reside in serving the society!
Looking forward for the Yatra, and the clock is ticking ... 17 days more to go! My tryst with destiny has just begun and shall continue....
